Rich Eisenberg (he/him/his)
Board Member, Secretary
A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice has been a theme throughout Rich Eisenberg's career. Today, he practices law at Harmon, Curran, Spielberg & Eisenberg, LLP, a small Washington DC law firm that specializes in advising progressive nonprofit organizations and whose core values include strengthening citizen advocacy, achieving social and economic justice, expanding civil rights, and promoting environmental stewardship. His overall practice focuses on the wide range of tax, campaign finance, election, lobbying, and privacy laws applicable to tax-exempt organizations. Rich particularly appreciates how this work enables him to help progressive clients accomplish their important missions while complying with applicable laws and minimizing their legal risk.
Rich began his legal career as a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, a large law firm based in New York. While there, he handled asylum matters for the firm’s pro bono client Immigration Equality. After three years at Paul Weiss, Rich joined President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign as an in-house attorney and then served as an appointee in the general counsel offices of the Air Force and the Army during the Obama Administration, where his work included a focus on policies to increase diversity and inclusion in the military.
Rich grew up in southern New Jersey in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and then obtained a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from Harvard Law School. He currently lives with his husband and their shiba inu in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC.
